OK, this one is really inside. Did you ever wonder why they're called air-personalities? Well.. you see, it really helps if your DJ's have a personality, otherwise they end up just giving the time, temperature, and the call letters. DJ's with a personality tend to attract more listeners. It's all part of that ratings thing we've mentioned before. In case your missed it, here are the formulas again:
First, for the radio station: PERSONALITY = RATINGS = STATION REVENUE DIVIDED BY SALES WEENIES
Now for the air talent: PERSONALITY = RATINGS = BONUS = NEW CAR = BABES AND CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT
KRUD Listener Tip: A radio personality (for real) is engaging, funny, likable, and doesn't have to try to be entertaining.. it just happens. The rest of us have to work at it by contriving phony phone calls, bits, and telling jokes we heard on the competing radio station. We suck and we know it.
