Radio announcing is a very subjective thing, one man's trash is another man's Mercury Award for Best Commercial. So, for the professional announcer, voiceover talent, hired gun- whatever handle used, he/she has to abide by the rule "The Client is Always Right". And if the client is a total moron, that can lead to stressful situations in the studio. The sometimes massive ego of the voice talent can be further dinged when he is asked to imitate another announcer's delivery. In other words, "Can you say it like the guy we really want but don't have the budget for?".
