You're a Listener and you don't get it...

Okay, this one is a stretch, but not out of the realm of possibilities. In addition to pulling their normal airshift, today's jocks are often asked to record everything a disc jockey would say in a four hour period in 10 minutes, to be played back by computer automation on another time slot or station. Sometimes, it's more than one show or station... This practice is called "voice tracking", and is just one more way management squeezes more work out of us, saving more money in salaries, improving the bottom line for the stockholders, and ultimately earning big bonuses for management who take big vacations.

So the jock is "voice tracking" the speech reporting how well the station is doing because they aren't paying as much in salaries because the General Manager is out of town because he got a big bonus because of the money saved doing the thing the jock is doing for the General Manager.. Is it me, or is
the irony getting really thick in here?
